DIY Home Accents

In the mood to revamp things around the house, but don’t have the time or money to dive into your decorating dreams? Opt for these DIY accents that are not only easy, but also lend a unique touch to your interiors.

Plant Your Boots.
That old pair of kicks you haven’t worn in years? Put them to use with potting soil, seeds of your favorite favorite flower, and a voila! A quirky vase for your ambrosial ambitions.

The Ball Jar.
It’s for more than canning veggies and sipping water. Choose a variety of light blue Ball jars for anything from flower vases to paper weights filled rocks or dried beans.

Thrift More.
Visit your local thrift shop or vintage store. Sure, you’ll have to do a little sifting, but look for pieces that juxtapose your current look. If you’r into clean, minimalist pieces, change things up with rustic old fans, typewriters, or old mirrors. If you’re into shabby chic, then look for chic, art deco accents.

Bottle’s Up.
Save your old bottles—sparkling water, wine, cold brew coffee, you name it. Turn them into small vases at each guest’s place setting at your next dinner party, or have the tops cut off and make your own soy candles!

Layer Upon Layer

We’re all about color, so when we stumbled upon this layered bracelet idea for summer we got excited. These DIY embellished friendship bracelets instantly update a look to make it fun and colorful.

Not only can personalize them and choose the colors you want, it also gave us a LOT of choices for which of our shoes we would choose to match them (due to too many options, we’re still undecided on that though!).

All Hail The Nail

When it comes to nails, it can be difficult to keep up with what’s “in” when and how to get which look. Finish your summer off with these trendsetting looks so you too can have the perfect tips.

Glitter
It’s all about the sparkle these days. You can go full-encrusted bling if you want, or opt for subtle shimmer with a slightly sparkly top coat. Keep in mind, though, that glitter polishes are more difficult to take off, so be sure to use a base coat!

Neon
Any way, shape, or form, neon nails are trending hard this season. It’s a chic juxtaposition to neutral clothing. It’s also a surefure pick-me-up on a gloomy day. Electric pink? Yes, please.

Pastels
Summer is the perfect time to employ a soft pastel nail. Break out the mints, baby pinks, and lavenders for a feminine finish to any look.

Nude
A soothing neutral is truly timeless and ageless. This look longates your fingers and toes and makes them appear neat and polished. It’s simple and refreshing; also perfect for the office if you’re uncertain about how much color to bring to your cubicle.

Red
If you’re into a full-on color, a girl can never go wrong with a classic red polish. Like red lipstick, a red polish signifies confidence, strength, femininity, and sex appeal.
