Gallerie Girl…Julie Falconer

Be inspired by Julie Falconer, the stylish travel writer and consultant behind luxury travel blog, “A Lady in London.” She spends her days circling the globe (she’s been to 90 countries,) discover this jet-setting expert’s favorites.

What do you do now? I am a travel writer and consultant. I run a global luxury travel blog called “A Lady in London” as well as a European travel destination guide website called VisitingEU.

When do you feel your most confident? I feel most confident when I know that I have the skills and knowledge to help people. Whether I’m writing about a destination, teaching a class, or consulting for a client, I feel confident when I know that I am offering something that can be useful to others.

What is something - big or small - that you are proud of? - I am proud of having the courage to quit a job in finance five years ago to move to another country and start my own business. It was a big decision to make, but it has worked out better than I ever imagined, and now I get to do what I love every day.

What color best describes you and why? Green best describes me. It is the color I associate with nature and the Earth, which inspires me to travel.

I stand for…making one’s dreams come true. A lot of people tell me that I’m “lucky” to do what I do, but luck had nothing to do with it. I have worked very hard to build my blog and business into what they are today, and I always encourage others to take steps—however small—to achieve their goals as well. It may seem overwhelming at first, but it pays off over time!

Weekend Agenda…Jam Out

There’s much more to this weekend than bagpipes and men in plaid skirts. From perfect preserves to a new album to download now, here’s how to survive your weekend without a green beer hangover.

Cool sibs Wild Belle create a unique brand of reggae-infused psychedelic pop that feels like fresh air and dancing barefoot. They’ve just released their first full album, Isles, and well, we haven’t stopped listening. Download it this weekend to put a little spring in your step during those walks to work.

Are you ready for this jelly? Jam out with Cat Lady, a line of Brooklyn-made jams, jellies, and extracts. Flavors like Alsenan’s Classic Strawberry and Drunken Prunes have us cat scratching for more - not to mention the jam’s ultra-cute hand-printed canvas bags.

What goes with strawberry jelly? Toast! Forget green and paint the town (or at least your nails) a delicate shade of light brown with RGB, a line of minimalist polishes. Each formula is cruelty free and made without carcinogens so you can actually feel good about getting toasted this St. Patty’s day.
